Urgent and After-Hours Legal Service Requests in Saskatchewan

Urgent document-service and notarial needs can arise outside ordinary business hours. South Sask Process Services accepts online service requests and email submissions at any time, but submissions are not monitored by a continuously staffed after-hours response team.

Current Response Expectations

Online requests and email submissions are accepted 24 hours a day. SSPS generally aims to provide an initial response within 24–72 hours.

If a request is urgent or tied to a deadline, identify that clearly and include the exact date, time, location, document type, and any instructions supplied by the court, lawyer, or receiving authority. Availability and scheduling will then be assessed for the specific request.

Submitting a request does not guarantee immediate acceptance, a particular response time, or completion by a requested deadline.

Services That May Be Available by Arrangement

Depending on scheduling, location, document requirements, and safety considerations, SSPS may be able to arrange:

• evening or weekend process-serving attempts;
• time-sensitive document pickup or delivery;
• mobile notary appointments at a home, hospital, or another agreed location;
• evening or weekend mobile-notary appointments; and
• preparation of service documentation for later filing.

Mobile notary appointments are offered by arrangement where scheduling permits. Evening, weekend, hospital, and home appointments are not guaranteed until SSPS confirms the booking.

Information to Include

To help SSPS assess the request, provide:

• your name and contact information;
• the service required;
• the relevant deadline and why it applies;
• the city and service location;
• the documents and any service instructions;
• the recipient's identifying and location information, where applicable; and
• any safety, accessibility, or scheduling considerations.

Do not send irreplaceable originals until SSPS confirms how they should be delivered.

Practical Limitations

Some tasks depend on courts, registries, banks, government offices, or other organizations that are closed outside their own business hours. SSPS cannot extend a legal deadline, guarantee that a person will be located or served, or provide legal advice about what procedure applies.

Clients remain responsible for obtaining legal advice where needed and for confirming court, document, and deadline requirements.
